Responsible for end-to-end performance engineering, capacity planning, and system tuning across large-scale IBM z/OS Parallel Sysplex environments. This role requires strong expertise in SMF-based analysis, WLM policy behavior, infrastructure measurement, and subsystem performance tuning.

Responsibilities:
- Perform end-to-end performance engineering across z/OS environments.
- Conduct system capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Analyze SMF and RMF data to evaluate system performance.
- Develop and maintain performance reports using MXG, SAS, and Splunk.
- Monitor daily system health and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide recommendations to enhance system performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues.
- Analyze coupling facility performance and LPAR configurations.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support performance issues.
- Design and document technical solutions for complex system environments.
- Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new performance tools and technologies.
- Use AI tools to improve operational productivity and analysis.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of SMF and RMF record structures.
- Experience with SAS programming and statistical data analysis.
- Knowledge of large-scale system operations and infrastructure.
- Proficiency with TSO and ISPF.
- Understanding of z/OS operations and JCL job stream modifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system incidents.
- Experience working across multiple platforms including z/OS and zLinux.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Senior-level experience in mainframe performance engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document performance analysis and system recommendations.
