The Analysis & Reporting Analyst supports the z Systems environment by providing analysis, financial chargeback reporting, and system data insights. The role requires strong knowledge of the mainframe platform, system processing patterns, and the ability to translate technical data into financial and operational reporting.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with z System technical teams.
  • Collaborate with z System storage teams.
  • Support application teams using the z Platform.
  • Assist finance and procurement teams with reporting data.
  • Work with IT leadership on analysis and reporting activities.

Platform Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of z System physical environments and hardware processor types.
  • Knowledge of processing requirements for various hardware platforms.
  • Understanding of DASD storage and processing patterns.
  • Knowledge of logical environments including APIs operating on the z Platform.
  • Understanding of CPU usage, LPAR definitions, and system capabilities.
  • Knowledge of system processing components including CICS, DB2, Network, and OS interactions.

Mainframe Applications:

  • Understand how mainframe applications interact with each other and system components.
  • Maintain knowledge of z System account codes and related processes.
  • Provide data required for financial chargeback reporting.
  • Support cost-benefit analysis (CBA) and proof-of-concepts (POCs).

Data & Reporting:

  • Analyze SMF data and storage-specific processing data.
  • Provide system data required for reporting and financial analysis.
  • Support SCRT processing and ensure accuracy before submission.
  • Interpret IBM, Broadcom, CA, and BMC billing reports.
  • Develop reports using mainframe system data.

Distributed Computing Skills:

  • Maintain ASP.NET applications.
  • Support PLM processes on x86 servers.
  • Verify distributed computing environments.
